TV & Film Screen Acting Description
This course offers a thorough and practical introduction to screen acting, in a fun and supportive atmosphere. It will offer students practice at a range of skills required for acting to a camera and will introduce students to different schools of thought about screen acting techniques and styles.

TV & Film Screen Acting Class Content
Our course is designed to develop acting techniques most appropriate for being “on camera”. However, exact course content may differ as it is often tailored to the students taking the course. The length of your course will also affect the material covered but will generally follow this structure:
Example: 6 Week Course
Week 1 - 2
- Relaxing in front of the camera
- Acting truthfully and be ‘in the moment’
- Discovering your natural voice for dialogue
- Developing an awareness of the camera without self-consciousness
Week 3 - 4
- Learning and using the basic approaches to ‘method acting’ as practised by the great screen actors of today
- Utilize differing techniques for approaching a script
- Explore different methods for acessing 'genuine' emotion
- Connecting with your fellow actor
Week 5 - 6
- Analysing a scene for film and make it come alive on screen
- Dealing with emotions on screen
- Adjusting your performance to suit the shot
- Analyse your performance and assess the quality of different takes
How our TV & Film Screen Acting Course is Taught
In this practical and dynamic class, students will be taught Acting through:
- Explanation, demonstration, suggestion, direction, repetition, revision and practising
- Whole group work / small groups / pair work and solo work to consolidate learning
- Written material to support practical learning

Feedback to Confirm Progress
Students will receive continual feedback from the tutor throughout the course. There will also be many opportunities for self-assessment and peer assessment. At the end of the course your tutor will assess the progress you have made.
Additional Information
Wearing comfortable clothes and bringing a bottle of water is recommended. Scripts will be provided.
