Alexander Technique Skills Development
This is an introduction into the principles of the Alexander Technique.
The Alexander Technique is a practical method which helps us to change the bad habits we get into with the way we use our body, which affect our daily life activities and performing in general.
What you will experience from these sessions:
- Awareness of the harmful postural habits in daily life activities such as sitting, standing, walking and movement in general and in performance.
- General increase of anatomical awareness through practical games and movement exercises.
- Release of tension in the muscles and spine.
- Heightened sensitivity to the physical responses of others.
- Improved listening and communication skills and more control over the non-verbal messages sent in conversation.
No previous experience is necessary. Nevertheless, students who have had lessons before will also benefit a great deal by joining this course in order to refresh and enhance their experience.
Wear comfortable, loose clothes and bring a bottle of water.
Something to Think About
Wearing comfortable clothes and bringing a bottle of water is recommended.
It’s important to let your teacher know if you have any physical strains or injuries at the beginning of the class.
The Alexander Technique is very gentle, if at any point you feel uncomfortable let your teacher know immediately.
