There's a lot of buzz about Ballroom right now with partner dancing taking over TV, film and stage.
And, why not? Ballroom Dance keeps you fit and is seriously social; there's nothing more satisfying than being able to take to the floor with confidence and style.
In our Beginners Ballroom Dance Course you will learn the essential Standard Ballroom and Latin Ballroom steps including Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Tango as well as mastering body alignment, dance frame and posture.
Dancing is all about communication and enjoying yourself, so there's no pressure to get things right, just turn up and go with the flow.
Ballroom Dance Skills Development
Our Beginners Ballroom Dance Course is perfect for those of you with little or no dance experience, or as a refresher course.
Exact content may differ depending on duration and your needs but the topics covered generally include:

Understanding posture and awareness of the dancing space

Developing body awareness especially co-ordination of the arms, feet and head

Learning essential elements of Ballroom dancing such as rise and fall, lock steps and chasse

Understanding the different timings used in ballroom dancing such as 3/4 and 4/4
- Standard ballroom: Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Tango
- Latin Ballroom: Cha Cha, Rhumba, Jive
- You will receive friendly feedback throughout the course
Something to Think About
There are some additional costs involved in taking any dance class.
Footwear and Clothing:
Recommended are trainers / jazz boots or jazz shoes.
(specialised stockists such as Gamba Freed and Dancia which have outlets in and around London can provide appropriate footwear).
Comfortable clothing such as leggings, jazz pants, tight tracksuit bottoms, shorts, crop tops, tight t-shirts are recommended.
Bring a notebook and pen (optional).
There's no need to bring a partner to join the course.
