It is also a great way to stay in shape.
The dance focuses on isolating different parts of the body, moving them independently in sensuous patterns and routines.
Belly dancing promotes femininity, balance, posture, strength, coordination and confidence as well as being a highly expressive art form.

Belly Dance Skills Development
Our Belly Dance Class - Level 1 is perfect for those with little or no experience, or those with only distant memories of taking classes at school.
Exact course content may differ depending on course length and your needs but topics covered will generallly include:

Exploring basic moves

Work co-ordination of arms / feet / head and build core strength

Development of isolation, popping and locking skills
- Combine moves learnt to develop a routine
- Losing your inhibitions and gaining confidence
You will also receive feedback throughout the course from your tutor.
Something to Think About
With all dance classes there are a few things that you may need to consider:
Footwear and Clothing
Recommended are trainers or jazz shoes.
(Specialised stockists such as Gamba Freed and Dancia which have outlets in and around London can provide appropriate footwear).
Comfortable clothing such as leggings, jazz pants, tight tracksuit bottoms, shorts, crop tops, tight t-shirts are recommended. A belly dancing belt is optional.
It's hot work too, so bring a bottle of water.
