Straight from the freestyle urban dance that originated outside the studios, commercial street dance combines many styles from modern dance to jazz dance.
Anything goes as long as it looks and feels good, and if you have an idea for a new step - try it out! Madonna, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake to name but a few fill their pioneering videos with this exciting, funky dance form.
Our course offers a practical introduction to street dance, combining the basic moves to create a simple but effective routine. You will also get the chance to choreograph your own routines under your teacher's expert eye.
So if you want to feel the forefront of popular dance, the creativity of Commercial Street could be for you.
Commercial Street Dance - Beginners - Skills Development
Our Commercial Street Dance Beginners course is perfect if you have little or no dance experience. We make sure that you have a good time and feel confident, while learning the essential urban moves.
Street dance is a great workout too, so you'll soon be fighting fit.
Exact content may differ depending on course duration and your needs, but topics generally covered include:

Learning about posture and position in dance

Losing inhibitions and gaining confidence

Developing greater balance, flexibility and strength

Co-ordination and footwork such as basic corner to corner work

Something to Think About
With all dance classes there are a few additional costs that you may need to consider:
Footwear and Clothing
Recommended are trainers/ jazz boots or jazz shoes.
(Specialised stockists such as Gamba Freed and Dancia which have outlets in and around London can provide appropriate footwear)
Comfortable clothing such as leggings, jazz pants, tight tracksuit bottoms, shorts, crop tops, tight t-shirts are recommended.
It's hot work too, so bring a bottle.
Commercial Street Dance - Beginners - Course Progression
We recommend that you take the beginners course twice before moving on, to guarantee that you feel confident.
We offer a 10% discount if you book 2 or more different courses at the same time.
