Beginners Musical Theatre

Beginners Musical Theatre Classes

Musical Theatre is the most technical of theatre disciplines, after all you have to sing, dance and act all at the same time. Our course introduces you to the fundamental techniques needed to perform on the West End stage.

There's no need to feel worried, we make sure that you are comfortable and confident, focusing largely on group numbers to begin with. Of course, if you do want to leap into the spotlight there's the opportunity for some solos too.

We select the repertoire from the popular musical theatre canon exploring work from composers including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Boubil and Schoenberg.

Whether you have hidden musical ambitions or fancy trying something new and exciting, Musical Theatre will shake you up mind, body and voice.

Beginners Musical Theatre Skills Development

This musical theatre course is the perfect way to explore the fundamentals of musical theatre in a dynamic and fun atmosphere. We like to keep things light and fun, after all musicals aren't meant to be miserable, so we encourage you to enjoy yourself and have a go.

Something to Think About

A Dictaphone or other portable recording device is very useful to record harmony lines, so bring one along. (Most mobile phones come with some kind of recording facility - so please check before purchasing anything new).

Bring a folder to class in which to put any given sheet music and a pencil to make notes on the score.

Suggested reading (optional): Singing and The Actor - Gillianne Kayes
