The musical repertoire will be mixed but draw largely from Musical Theatre and contemporary arrangements of pop/jazz as well as on traditional choral works.

Location
The Choir's is Hanbury Hall in Spitalfields, E1. Within easy commute of major stations - Liverpool Street Station, Aldgate East and Shoreditch High Street.
Choir Etiquette
As a member of the choir you do not have to commit to every rehearsal evening, as we appreciate that people have busy lives. However, we do ask that as a concert approaches, you commit to the 4 preceding weeks of rehearsals, and of course the concert itself! If you are unable to perform in the concert you may of course still attend rehearsals as usual.
We are simply keen to make sure you get as much as possible from your choir membership.
Performance Opportunities
There are many performance opportunities within the City Academy Choirs and we are delighted to have been involved in the following concerts/productions:
We provided choir members for the 5 *, award winning You Me Bum Bum Train, as part of the Barbican’s summer season.
The City Academy Choir (Central London) at the South West Fest, and are delighted to have been asked back to perform again next year.
City Academy Choirs have performed at The Ideal Home Show and various other events, in addition to our own shows (including our main Christmas and Summer shows).
City Academy Choir members performed with Indie band Bombay Bicycle Club.
As our choirs continue to grow in reputation we are receiving a greater number of performance requests.
Choir Admission Policy
The choir is not suitable for absolute beginners, we recommend you complete a Beginners Singing Lessons and Improvers Singing Lessons before progressing to choir, or have some previous singing experience/training. You don’t have to be able to read music, but it helps.
If you are unsure please attend a free taster session, at the end of which you will be asked to sing a prepared song for the Musical Director, who will advise whether or not the choir is the best singing course for you.
