So, you have completed some City Academy Musical Theatre Courses and are at good level of skill in all 3 disciplines: singing, acting and dance, now it's time to take things up a notch.

If you want to sing and dance with your friends and continue to improve your performance skills at the same time, our Musical Theatre Company is perfect for you!

How our Musical Theatre Company Works

This is an ongoing weekly group which you pay a yearly membership fee to join entitling you to participate in all rehearsals, performances and social events.

The City Academy Musical Theatre Company works towards 2 performances a year: a Christmas Show and a full musical production. These are staged in a theatre, giving you valuable experience of working in a professional environment with an expert creative team.

It really is a chance to put all your hard earned Musical Theatre techniques to the test, and show off a bit to friends and family.

With weekly rehearsals on a Monday evening and regular performances throughout the season, City Academy Musical Theatre Company is one of the most exciting up-and-coming contemporary groups in London to join.

Something to Think About

You are welcome to join the City Academy Musical Theatre Company at any time during the year.

City Academy Musical Theatre Company classes run throughout the year (on Monday evenings) with the exception of Bank Holidays, 2 weeks summer break and Christmas.

As rehearsals involve dance, comfortable loose clothing is advised. You may also find it beneficial to have Jazz and Tap shoes, although this is not compulsory.

A Dictaphone or other portable recording device is recommended in order to record harmony lines. (Most mobile phones come with some kind of recording facility - so please check before purchasing anything new).

Bring a folder to class in which to put any given sheet music and a pencil to make notes on the score.

You may be asked to provide your own basic costumes for performances.

Etiquette
As this is an ongoing group you do not have to commit to every Monday evening, we appreciate that life is busy. However, we do ask that, as a performance approaches, you make a commitment to 4 weeks of preceding rehearsals, and of course to the performance itself.

If you are unable to perform in the show you may still attend rehearsals as usual.

We are keen to make sure everyone gets the most from their membership.

Classes are always held on a Monday night between 7.00pm - 9.00pm at Finsbury Town Hall (Angel).

Admissions Policy
To join the Musical Theatre Company you need to have completed at least our Improvers Musical Theatre course, otherwise you'll end up in a tangle. Not pretty.
