You will learn the essential Salsa steps, in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Remember it's a partner dance so you'll meet plenty of new people along the way, and you'll all be learning together.
No matter how nervous you feel on your first night, by the end of the course you'll be Salsa dancing with style.
Salsa Dance Skills Development
Our Beginners Salsa Class is ideal for those with no salsa experience whatsoever, it is designed to take you through the fundamental steps in an accessible and fun way. We like to make sure you feel confident and happy, while challenging you just enough.
Exact content may differ depending on the students' needs and course duration, but topics generally covered include:

Understanding the origins of Salsa and its historical and cultural context

Learning about dancing posture, elegance and sensuality in Salsa

Introduction to Salsa, basic step, side step, openings and couple hold

Right turn, left turn for ladies and men, variations of lead for the turns

Cross body lead basic moves in couple, exercises on following for ladies and leading for men

Combinations of X-body lead, right and left turn

Cross body reverse, shoulder lead, introduction to shines

Dance floor combinations

Something to Think About
We need you to wear suitable footwear for Salsa:
Ladies
Court shoes with a small strong heel - NO stilettos, sandals, platforms or trainers.
Men
Leather-soled shoes with a slight heel - NO trainers.
Remember to bring a bottle of water, as it can be hot work.
You don't have to bring a partner to join the course.
