Advanced Singing Lessons Description
Students will be honing their skills of the 'Estil' vocal method which promotes healthy voice use, whilst exploring a range of sounds/vocal styles. They will learn how to make appropriate vocal choices and have a strong foundation of Tilt, Twang, Speech Quality and Belt. Advanced 'acting through song' techniques will the introduced at this stage including character observation, inner monologue and ‘actioning’.
The course will also include advanced work on posture and alignment, breathing and support, and appropriate use and control of voice qualities.
Students are introduced to more complex harmony singing, and often will be responsible for their own harmony line. More complex solo repertoire will be approached. Students will be expected to perform at least one solo and one duet at the showcase at the end of the course.
The musical repertoire will be chosen from the Musical Theatre canon as well as pop, jazz and classical works.
