This course is an exciting opportunity to explore the huge potential in writing for radio. We will guide you from initial idea through to a completed short radio drama in no time at all.
Incorporating the skills and techniques covered in Scriptwriting - Level 1 - Beginners, over 6 weeks you will develop the additional techniques needed to become an expert writer for radio.
Writing Skills Development
Exact course content may differ according to the course length and students needs but topics covered generally include:
- An introduction to Writing for Radio.
- Creating ideas, honing writing techniques for radio.
- Establishing and working on characters dialogue, bringing them to life through writing techniques.
- Sharpening writing structure to radio.
- Recording your own 3 minute radio drama.
- Sharing your own recording in the group with feedback from members and teacher.
Something to think about
Writing is usually a solo activity and your ideas can be very close to your heart, but in a workshop situation it's beneficial to be open to suggestion and advice from the teacher and other students. So don't hold too tightly!
Bringing a note pad, pen or laptop and a bottle of water is recommended.
