The Sponsorship Team at BFI wanted to develop their presentation and other communication skills to help with their work in securing sponsorship more effectively.
For this case study, City Academy was hired to design a communications workshop specifically around the needs of the Sponsorship Team. The specific skills covered were:
Presentation Skills; Negotiation; Reading an Audience; Making an Impact

The effectiveness of role-play in re-creating the tension of difficult conversations was really clear and the team had some thought-provoking discussions around linguistic choices and psychological techniques.
As well as enjoying the role-play, they seemed particularly responsive to the training around reading the audience, overcoming nerves and vocal impact strategies for presenting. The camera was invaluable and they found it very instructive to watch themselves objectively and discover that they were actually masking a lot of their nerves more successfully than they thought.
“I am still amazed how much you managed to pack in to the day and for taking us through with such energy and craft. I have had only positive feedback from everyone and we are already see improvement in the meetings we have had since the training day.”
