City Academy Thursday Theatre Company


How Does it Work?


The Thursday Company perform in three studio productions a year, with each production offering two performances. Joining the company involves:

  • Weekly Thursday rehearsals from 6.30pm - 9.45pm at purpose-built Diorama Arts Studios
  • Final Sunday rehearsal followed by a matinee and evening Showcase Performances
  • Invited audiences of family, friends and industry contacts with complimentary tickets

Schedule For 2018


The Thursday Theatre Company is an ongoing theatre performance group. You pay on a termly basis, entitling you to participate in all rehearsals and performances.

Rehearsals:

Thursday 01 February and then each Thursday until 22 March.  Final pre-performance rehearsal Sunday 25 March

Studio Production:

Matinee and evening performances Sunday 25 March

Who Can Join?


Everyone is welcome to join the company. All we require is that you have some previous acting experience - either a City Academy Beginners course or the equivalent classes elsewhere.

Company Director


The City Academy Thursday Company is led by experienced actor and director Jack McMahon.

Jack trained at The Oxford School of Drama and has worked in many prestigious theatres including The Royal Court, Soho Theatre, Contact Theatre Manchester, Watford Palace Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and Charing Cross Theatre.

His collaborations include work with renowned theatre companies such as Secret Cinema, National Art Service and Curious Directive and film work with The Royal National Theatre and Vertical Films.

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

Membership will cover you for all classes, rehearsals and performances for the duration of the term.

The Thursday Theatre Company have three terms throughout the year:

TERM 1: February - April
TERM 2: April - June
TERM 3: September - November

There are no rehearsals in December, July & August.

MEMBERSHIP PERFORMANCES

The Thursday Theatre Company each term rehearses towards a showcase performance. Each studio production will consist of three performances: a Sunday matinee, a Sunday evening performance and a Monday evening performance.

MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT

We offer two different payment options for the Thursday Theatre Company:

1. Full payment of £399.00

2. Deposit payment of £150.00, then two further payments of £125.00
1st Instalment - one month after the start date
2nd Instalment - one month after the 1st instalment

Your deposit instalment payments will be automatically debited from your credit/debit card.

Cancellations Policy

We offer a full refund or full credit if you cancel at least 72 hours before your first Theatre Company rehearsal.
We cannot offer any refund if you cancel less than 72 hours before the your first Theatre Company rehearsal.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
