City Academy Groups runs a range of tailor-made private workshops throughout London and beyond. Whether you’re a school party, university society, community initiative or simply a group with similar interests, we cater to all ages, levels and abilities, and have an option to suit your budget.

Drawing from City Academy’s comprehensive, nationally recognised syllabus of arts training, choose from our core strands including dance, singing, acting, filmmaking, musical theatre, creative writing and more - delivered at your place, our place or online. Each strand is completely customisable in terms of content, delivery, location and time frame.

Workshops are delivered in a friendly, supportive atmosphere under the expert guidance of our tutors - working creative professionals from across the arts. Learn practically, as you apply the skills you learn and build teamwork, confidence and freedom of expression.

ACTING

ACTING

As a leading Acting School in London, City Academy offers you the opportunity to study acting at a variety of levels, enjoy a challenge and gain new skills. Classes are taught at Beginners, Improvers and Advanced levels, and our most intensive option, Foundation in Acting. Like our Groups offerings, workshops are tailored to individual or collective needs; other options include Online and Business versions of the principal courses.

SINGING

Now established as one of London's leading singing schools, City Academy offers adult singing lessons for all abilities, from Beginners to our intensive 5-Day Singing Foundation courses. Lively, welcoming and lighthearted, our acclaimed singing programme celebrates the joy of singing, supported by an expert roster of tutors made up of professional singers and performers. 

Enjoy the best of specialised content from different genre workshops including Jazz & Blues, Pop & Rock and Musical Theatre. We also operate not one but six contemporary central London choirs who rehearse weekly and perform each year, and offer skills-focused courses such as Songwriting.

City Academy offers adult dance lessons in an extensive range of styles and disciplines, across all levels of experience. Classes are dynamic, challenging and practical, utilising the sparkling footwork and expert knowledge of the professional performers that make up our tutorship. 

Our Dance department has one of the most wide-reaching programmes in the entire school, with immersive workshops in everything from ballet to belly dance, Bollywood to ballroom, tap dance to street dance and more. We also offer a more intensive dance training course - the Dance Foundation - based at the world-famous Sadler's Wells Theatre.

City Academy is 18+ for public workshops. On a private basis, we can work with groups of any ages to include children of school age.Workshops can be tailored to make them age and level appropriate.

A member of our team can speak to you about your requirements and offer you ideas, options to suit.We can book a private room, tutor for your group for a time and date of your choice. We can also tailor workshop content to suit you. For example, we can run a musical theatre workshop based on a musical of choice or offer a dance workshop based on a specific artist or song.

Absolutely - We work with over 240 expert tutors with extensive experience and expertise. In many cases, we can offer custom workshops entirely created for you.We can also help if your class, society or group is looking for a talk, webinar or performance piece rather than a workshop.

We're able to host workshops at private houses. This works particularly well for celebrations like birthdays, hen dos or occasions that may be a surprise. If you would like to arrange a workshop at your property, all we'd need is the full address and an understanding of how much space you have available. For example, a dance lesson will require space as guests will be moving around.
