Christmas movies are a delightful cultural phenomenon.<\/strong> If a film contains the requisite level of yuletide-cheer, it is able to magically transcend its own genre, finding itself nestled amongst a unique library of festive titles that are hauled out every December for our (repeat) viewing pleasure \u2013 regardless of artistic quality.<\/em><\/p>\n

Indeed, many of these have sacrificed discernible plot-structure or extensive character-development for out-and-out adventure, entertainment, and feelgood sentiment. And that\u2019s why we love them!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a run-down of our favourite Christmas Movies of all time\u2026<\/p>\n

  1. Elf <\/strong>(2003)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When Elf<\/em> came out in 2003 Will Ferrell wasn\u2019t quite the household name he is now, but he\u2019s no less brilliant for it. Buddy (Ferrell) \u2013 raised by elves (not wolves) \u2013 finds himself a fish-out-of-water in New York City, trying to make head or tail of confusing American holiday traditions. It\u2019s stupid, full of slapstick moments, and possibly the funniest Christmas movie ever made. A musical version of Elf<\/em> has just opened at London\u2019s Dominion Theatre<\/a>, but if you want to see where the hilarity all started, look no further.<\/p>\n
