Novel Writing Course

Have you developed an idea for a novel but need a boost of confidence? Maybe you’ve started writing but hit the infamous writers block? Maybe you need regular deadlines – or written half a book and got stuck! Maybe you need a little more guidance on technique, or simply to hear the work read aloud.

Our Novel Writing Course are designed to kick-start the process of writing a novel in a meaningful and focused way. You do not have to have prior experience or taken another course, but you may have an understanding of writing techniques such as plot, structure and character. At each session, you will bring in extracts of your work and have the opportunity to troubleshoot your problems. You will also hear your writing aloud and receive feedback from both an experienced tutor and your writing peers. Designed to motivate, nurture and challenge, this writing class has been created with the realities of writing in mind.

NOVEL WRITING COURSE CONTENT

• Focus on kick-starting your novel through action and character.
• Regular deep dives on story, structure and character.
• Group discussion on use of metaphor and the descriptive element of your prose.
• Practical support tailored to suit your needs or those of the group.

Like all of our writing courses, you’ll receive friendly, constructive feedback from your teacher throughout the course. The opportunity to discuss and share your ideas with a group of fellow writers can be an incredibly useful part of the creative process, helping you develop the style and scope of your writing.
