Our enjoyable and practical Online Contemporary Dance Classes - Beginners will introduce you to the fundamentals of contemporary dance. Learning in a virtual group setting you will explore new ways of movement and expression. Contemporary dance is ideal for those looking to find physical and creative release whilst building fitness and stamina. In this course you will explore four main Contemporary Dance techniques: Graham, Cunningham, Limon and Release.
Building from simple steps and movements to ever-more complex routines, this online beginners course is entirely suitable for people with little or no dance experience.
Contemporary dance was developed in the early 20th century and presented an alternate form of expression to the upright and highly structured technique of Classical Ballet. Focusing instead on fluidity and ease of movement, the body’s energy and natural lines, a new mode of self-expression in dance was born.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
