Our Online Filmmaking Beginners Course: Using your Camera is an essential one-stop shop for filmmakers looking to deepen their understanding of a camera’s functionality.

Led by an expert filmmaker, you will learn core skills to master your approach to visual storytelling, from the difference between shutter and frame rate to how changing aperture affects the look of your film. You will also explore technical terms, lens choices, and examine film directors’ styles to enhance your filmmaking process.

As with all our online filmmaking courses, you’ll be led in an inclusive virtual setting with a group of likeminded people.

You will need
  • A device with Camera and Microphone
  • 2 metres squared to move in
  • Comfortable Clothes
  • A digital camera to hand if you have one, but it is not essential to this course.

A note on participation: Enhancing these skills requires practical and active participation. As this is an interactive, group class all students will be required to have their videos turned on.
