Claire is one of City Academy’s long standing singing tutors. Claire trained as a singer, both as a classical singer and in musical theatre, at the Royal Academy of Music and Chethams School of Music.
Her classes are half technique (based on the Estill model) and half repertoire. Music choices are wide ranging, touching on Musical Theatre, Jazz, Pop and Rock etc, and can be highly influenced by the tastes of the group. As a working actress, she also works on performance skills and acting through song. Claire’s upbeat style places equal emphasis on the enjoyment of singing as well as technical pursuits, so she is suited to those who like a giggle with their learning.
Rowland trained as a classical pianist for 15 years before venturing in to the world of vocal coaching and Music Theatre.
Over the last 7 years, he has been working as a Musical Director/ Arranger & Composer on the Melbourne musical theatre and cabaret scene. Alongside his industry experience, Rowland is also an established piano tutor and vocal coach.
His credits as Musical Director include Merrily We Roll Along (Parade Theatre), The Last 5 Years (SLS) and Annie (Waterdale).
Due to Claire’s performance commitments, the Beginners Singing course starting 13 September will be taught by both tutors. Rowland Brache will teach the first two sessions and then Claire Greenway will return on 27 September to teach all remaining classes.
