Tom Colley

Tom is a professional actor with a wide range of experience across Theatre, Film and Television. Past theatre credits include The Judas Kiss (Hampstead Theatre and Duke of York’s Theatre, London) and Stuff Happens (National Theatre). Tom has also appeared in the feature film The Happy Prince, as well as television dramas Call the Midwife (BBC) and Salting the Battlefields (BBC).

Tom is also an experienced Director. He was Assistant Director on the English production of Antigone at the Michael Cacoyannis Theatre, and worked as Director and vocal coach at The Drive Forward Foundation, where he is directing a show devised and written by care leavers.

Tom is an enthusiastic and passionate tutor who aims to help his students grow in both skill and confidence. His particular focus is on working with actors to explore the text, and develop depth and clarity of character in performance.

Karina Fernandez

Karina trained at the Drama Centre, and is a prolific actor with credits in theatre, television and film.

Karina has been in three films directed by Mike Leigh – Another Year, Mr Turner and Happy Go Lucky – and performed in Matthew Warchus’s critically-acclaimed film, Pride. Karina also works regularly in theatre and has collaborated with Max Stafford-Clark, and his theatre company Out of Joint, on numerous occasions. Other credits include productions at Soho Theatre, the Arcola, the National Theatre and The Bush.

Karina encourages her students to create characters that are credible, detailed and authentic. She focusses on developing technical skills, but also endeavours to maintain playfulness and a sense of humour in class. Karina places great importance on building a sense of company in her classes, and enjoys watching students support each other and grow in confidence and ability throughout the course.
