Dancing can feel daunting when you’re starting from scratch, but our Absolute Beginners Dance Course is the perfect place to begin. Designed for adults with little or no dance experience, these friendly and supportive classes will help you overcome nerves, improve coordination, and learn the building blocks of dance – all while having fun.
Whether you’re preparing for an event, wanting to try something new, or just want to feel more confident on the dance floor, this dance course will ease you in with simple, enjoyable movement and expert guidance.
What you will learn
Each class is designed to introduce you to the core foundations of dance and help you feel comfortable moving with rhythm. You’ll cover:
- The basic elements of dance and movement
- Travelling steps and transitions
- Foundational steps such as the ball change, box step, chasse, and more
- How to recognise and move in time with rhythm and music
- Coordination and balance through simple combinations
- Confidence-building exercises in a relaxed, judgement-free environment
- Key dance terminology and how to put steps together into short sequences
You’ll leave each session with new moves, a better sense of rhythm, and more belief in your ability to dance – even if you've never tried it before.
