This intermediate course is intended to take your Bachata social dance to the next level!
Join a vibrant community of dancers and experience the joy of Bachata.
Focused intensely on technique, this course covers complex turn patterns with a focus on body movement required at a more advanced level of Bachata. Students can expect to learn counterbalances, isolations, body roll/body wave variations and syncopations. As well as new moves, the intermediate course works on the building blocks required to both lead and follow a social dance, and most importantly how to interpret the music (musicality).

- Learn advanced turn patterns and musicality to enhance your dance repertoire.
- Develop a strong connection with your partner through clear communication and lead-follow techniques.
- Gain confidence and style through mastering complex footwork combinations.
- Explore the cultural background and history of bachata to deepen your understanding and appreciation.
- Receive personalised feedback from experienced instructors to accelerate your progress.
- Join a vibrant dance community and experience the joy of connecting with others through bachata.

Understanding Our Salsa & Bachata Curriculum
Salsa and bachata are beautifully rich dances, full of technique, musicality, and finesse and like any true art form, they take time to develop and refine.
Each course within our curriculum is designed to be repeated, often more than once. You’ll work closely alongside your peers and your tutor, who will guide you in mastering every element of the material. When you’re ready, you’ll receive a sign-off to progress to the next level, ensuring a solid and confident foundation at every stage.
To support your learning, our bi-monthly afternoon Salsa Social is a friendly, welcoming, and safe space where you can practise what you’ve learned in class, build confidence on the dance floor, and most importantly, have fun.
Think of salsa as a marathon, not a sprint. There’s no rush, the joy is in the journey, slow and steady, with lots of smiles along the way.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
Our Salsa Socials have something for everyone, from beginners to experienced salsa dancers. These evening sessions are perfect for those wanting to work on their salsa skills and meet new people.
