Armed with your camera we’ll go deep into Richmond Park – the largest enclosed space in London – to photograph herds of Red and Fallow deer. Following the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to receive feedback on your images in a one hour online session with your tutor. In a natural environment, you’ll get a hands-on experience of observing and photographing wild animals. As with all of our photography workshops at City Academy, you will learn from professional photographers with years of experience, and your amazing photos will reflect the level of teaching. Camera Settings for Wildlife Develop the camera skills needed to photograph moving subjects using appropriate shutter speeds, autofocus and exposure settings. Observation and Timing Discover how to read animal behaviour, anticipate key moments and improve your chances of capturing compelling images. Composition in Nature Explore techniques for using light, backgrounds and natural surroundings to create more impactful wildlife photographs. Photographing on Location Put your learning into practice during guided photography sessions in a natural environment, with opportunities to photograph free-roaming wildlife. Expert Guidance Benefit from location-based demonstrations, practical tuition and personalised feedback from an experienced wildlife photographer. Do I need my own camera? Please bring a mirrorless camera, a DSLR camera or a compact camera with full manual controls, a variety of focal lenses from 70-200mm, your camera’s manual, a fully charged battery, an empty memory card, comfortable shoes and an external flash (if owned, we can supply them if not). If you don’t have any of this, you can borrow a camera for use during class time.
