Bachata originated in the Dominican Republic and has evolved into one of the most popular Latin social dances worldwide. It is a modern partner dance, with simple four-step timing which has influences from other Latin dances including Salsa and Tango.
Bachata is going viral all around the world, even appearing in talent shows like Italy’s got talent and others. It frequently appears on social media through couples like Daniel and Desiree, Ataca y la Alemana and Korke and Judith. Bachata music continues to thrive with super stars like Romeo Santos but the real beauty is how common it is to hear mainstream pop and rnb song remixes at a bachata party.
It can be danced to a wide range of music, including some of the most recognisable pop and RnB songs.
