Soul & Gospel Singing - Improvers

This course is suitable for those who have a basic knowledge of singing technique and the ability to correctly pitch and understand their voice.

Students must have completed a singing beginners course and/or have previous singing experience and wish to further develop their vocal skills.  

Within this course students will further consolidate vocal technique, breathing exercises, posture and application of this technique across a broad repertoire.

The ability to hear notes and sing them back as well as good spoken and written english is required.

All courses are taught within groups.  Each week will begin with a thorough vocal warm up before going on to develop and apply key vocal techniques and approaches to develop your confidence and singing skills.

Students will have the opportunity to sing a broad range of repertoire each week.  Your voice will grow in strength and flexibility and you’ll gain a sense of control and confidence when singing. Best of all, you’ll have a lot of fun, and meet like-minded new people.

Students will have:

• Developed confidence in their vocal ability, improving vocal expression, dynamics and musicianship.
• Explored singing as part of an ensemble and as a solo singer.
• An understanding of how the vocal mechanism works.
• Developed effective breathing and singing technique.
• Applied this technique across your chosen repertoire.
• Demonstrated learnt technique within an informal sharing to fellow students on the final session.
