Our Absolute Beginners Dance Taster Class is a great way to begin your dance journey. Whether you're nervous, unsure, or simply want to try something new, this friendly one-off class gives you a flavour of what it’s like to learn dance at City Academy, with zero pressure and lots of encouragement.
Led by a professional dance tutor, you’ll experience a relaxed, supportive session designed especially for people with no dance experience. You'll be in good company with other adults who are also new to dance. This taster class is a great chance to get moving, meet your teacher, and build the confidence to take that next step. After enjoying the taster, students then go on to book our Absolute Beginners Dance course or a beginners course in a style of their choice.
What to Expect
During this one off class you will cover:
- Core technique: A short introduction to rhythm and movement dynamics
- Travelling & transitions: Learn how to move fluidly from one step to another
- Foundational moves: Simple steps you can build into a short routine
- Short sequence: Try putting steps together in a mini combination
- Confidence building: Light, enjoyable exercises to help you feel good while you move
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask your tutor questions about the course, learning to dance as an adult, and what to expect at City Academy.
