Enjoy a short introduction to Contemporary Dance at City Academy with our Contemporary Dance Taster class.
Experience the liberating flow of Contemporary Dance in a supportive group class as you explore qualities of movement, floor work and musicality. In the class you'll enjoy a short warm-up, learn some key movements and then put them together into a simple Contemporary sequence. These evening sessions are held in central London dance studios and are suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with more experience in the style of dance in general.

No, this class is suitable for absolute beginners. The emphasis is on enjoyment, creativity, and learning the basics at your own pace.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Most students take part barefoot or dance in socks.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
Our adult Ballet Summer Schools focus on classical ballet techniques, you will also learn ballet history, terminology and excerpts from famous ballets and experience being ‘en Pointe’.
