Gain confidence in the salsa social scene!
Footwork, styling and body movement are essential components in Salsa social dancing and often daunting to those new to the dance. The way you move your feet, add personal flair, and use your body to express emotions can make all the difference in creating a captivating dance with your partner. These three elements work together harmoniously to elevate the overall quality and impact of the dance.
This new course is a standalone short course dedicated to familiarising and experimenting with salsa footwork, arm styling, hips and upper body movement.
Designed for those from Salsa Improvers 1 level to Advanced and to pair alongside your partner work class it will provide a fully holistic approach to your Salsa social dancing.
COURSE Content
- Improve your footwork technique and execute various dance steps proficiently.
- Enhance personal style and develop your own unique dance aesthetic.
- Increase body awareness and develop a better understanding of how to reproduce body movements effectively.
- Gain a deeper understanding of musicality and rhythm, enabling you to synchronise footwork and body movement with the music.
- Combine footwork, styling, and body movement seamlessly to create a visually appealing and dynamic dance.
- Improve coordination and agility through practicing and mastering various exercises and drills.
- Develop greater confidence in dance abilities and be able to express more freely through footwork, styling, and body movement.
- Expand dance vocabulary and be exposed to different dance styles and techniques, including Latin, jazz, afro, hip-hop, etc.
Level
Designed for those from Salsa Improvers 1 level to Advanced.
Equipment
Comfortable clothing and dance shoes are recommended.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
Our Salsa Socials have something for everyone, from beginners to experienced salsa dancers. Everyone is welcome to attend; simply drop in and pay per session you attend, or alternatively book your place online before the social. You don't have to bring a partner, just come ready to dance!
