City Academy Musical Theatre Company

The City Academy Musical Theatre Company gives you a unique opportunity to put all your hard earned Musical Theatre techniques to the test, and show off your skills to friends and family!

If you have completed the Beginners and Improvers Musical Theatre Courses, this ongoing group offers an opportunity to perform twice a year: a Christmas Show (usually a Musical Theatre themed Pantomime) and a full musical production in the summer. These are both staged in a theatre, giving you valuable experience of working in a professional environment with an expert creative team.

This is an on-going weekly group for which you pay a yearly membership fee – this will entitle you to participate in all rehearsals, perform in top venues, and get involved in social events.

Admissions Policy

To join the Musical Theatre Company you need to have completed at least our Beginners and Improvers Musical Theatre course or an equivalent, otherwise you'll end up in a tangle. If you are unsure, please email Rebecca@city-academy.com

As a member of the Musical Theatre Company, you don’t have to commit to every rehearsal evening, as we appreciate people have busy lives. However, putting on a large scale show takes a lot of hard work, practice at home and commitment in order for it to be a success, so we do ask that you attend as many classes as you can.

Membership Subscription Details

City Academy has two Musical Theatre Companies; one which rehearses every Monday evening and one on a Tuesday evening. Classes run every week with the exception of Bank Holidays, a three week summer break and Christmas (no classes between 20th Dec - 5th Jan 2017).

There are two show periods during the year:

- Summer Musical – rehearsals are 7 months long and start in January

- Christmas Pantomime – rehearsals are 5 months long and start in August

We offer two payment options for the Musical Theatre Companies:

- Monthly Instalments: Join the Company for one show period, and pay monthly instalments. After your first payment we will automatically debit your card on the first working day of each month. Membership cannot be cancelled before the end of a show period. You will be charged for the months you rehearse. Therefore for the Summer Musical you will be charged for 7 months, and for the Christmas Pantomime you will be charged for 5 months.

- One Show Membership – Upfront Payment: Save 5% on the monthly option and join for one show. This option is non-refundable.
