Standard Ballroom Explore classic Standard Ballroom styles, building confidence with posture, frame, timing and smooth movement. Latin Ballroom Try Latin Ballroom rhythms and steps, bringing energy, expression and variety to your dance practice. Partner Connection Develop the basics of dancing with a partner, including clear connection, comfort and shared movement. Rhythm and Coordination Improve rhythm, timing and coordination as you learn how to move more confidently with music. Social Dance Confidence Put your steps into practice in a fun group setting, helping you feel more relaxed and confident on the dance floor. Useful information Do I need a partner to join the class? No partner is required! You can join solo, and you’ll rotate partners throughout the class so everyone has the opportunity to dance and learn together. What should I wear to class? Wear something comfortable that allows easy movement - smart-casual or activewear is perfect. Smooth-soled shoes are ideal for turning and gliding. I’m completely new to dancing. Is this course suitable for me? Absolutely! Our beginners’ classes are designed for complete newcomers. Your tutor will guide you step-by-step through the basics at an easy pace. What is the difference between a leader and follower? In partner dance, the leader starts the dance and guides their partner through physical signals. The follower responds to their partner with their own movement and expression. It is not based on gender, as anyone can be a leader or follower, and some people learn both roles. Will I learn both Standard and Latin styles? Yes! The programme covers both Standard Ballroom (like Waltz and Quickstep) and Latin Ballroom (like Rumba and Cha Cha) so you’ll experience a wide range of styles. Our Approach This class will cover all the techniques necessary to learn this beautiful art form, steps are broken down for easy learning.
