Perfect the art of belting. Some of the biggest pop, rock and Musical Theatre stars rely on their signature belt, whether it is the big finale note at the end of Defying Gravity or Whitney Houston’s whole rep…belting is an important skill to master.
Learn how to belt without straining in a fun, safe environment with Estill Master Trainer Sarah Vaughan. During this workshop you will explore the anatomy and physiology of belting to really understand why the body moves and sounds the way it does. With the support of an expert tutor you will learn how to use this exciting technique safely and the different types of belting and styles it inhabits.
You will have the opportunity to bring a section of a song to explore and apply the technique behind the belt to your chosen song.
BELTING FOR POP, ROCK AND MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE CONTENT
During the Belting for Pop, Rock and Muscial Theatre Workshop, you will:
- Define Belt, what it is and how it is made
- Explore exercises to access elements needed for safe belting
- Look at where we may use belt
- How to sound like 'YOU' belting
- Apply your belt to songs
- Experience a Q&A by a musical expert

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
PERFORM ON STAGE
Rehearse and perform a famous Musical on stage at a theatre in central London. Previous shows include: Legally Blonde, West Side Story, Sweeney Todd and more.
All of our tutors have experience performing on the West End and their friendly and supportive teaching will breakdown the steps into bitesize chunks.
