Sing your heart out with the Singers Choir! Our Singers Choir is a vibrant mixed-voice choir located in the heart of the City. Sing an eclectic mix of rock and pop hits (lots from the 80s and 90s!), beautiful folk songs and stunning contemporary choral works.
Boost your confidence and expand your range with weekly sessions with our Musical Director, Eamonn O’Dwyer. Your vocal skills will grow, as well as your social life, as you make friends for life in our bubbly choir.
If you’re interested in Singers Choir, you must attend a taster session. During the taster, you will attend a regular drop in rehearsal and meet the rest of the group. The Musical Director will also take the opportunity to hear you sing and assess your suitability for the group. Following the taster, our team will inform you via email if you have been accepted.
Rehearsals
In weekly rehearsals, you will develop in the following areas:
- Develop and refine vocal technique and dynamic choral performance
- Explore a variety of song genres and increase your repertoire knowledge
- Improve range, pitch and listening skills
- Learn about the vocal anatomy and build confidence

Jazz, Classical, Pop & Rock and lots of 80's and 90's classics.

If you’re interested in joining the Singers, please sign up for a taster session. You will come along to a regular Monday night rehearsal with the whole group, and then stay for a short and very informal audition with Eamonn at the end of the evening, just to assess your level of ability.
The choir isn’t suitable for absolute beginners; some singing or choral experience is necessary, plus a strong ear for harmony too!
Following the taster, our team will inform you via email if you have been accepted.
Who Can Join?
The choir is a mixed group and all genders are welcome. It’s a great platform to meet like-minded musicians in a fun and sociable environment.
The City Academy Singers is open to anyone with some previous singing experience. If you don’t have the experience required, we recommend completing Singing Beginners Singing and Singing Improvers course before progressing to the choir.

Performances
City Academy Singers perform in showcases and larger scale productions each year at prestigious music venues across London. Additional performances for the choir may also include community projects and live music events.
Choir Director
The choir is led by performer, composer and musical director, Eamonn O'Dwyer.
Eamonn trained at the Royal Academy of Music. He played the pivotal role of the Song Man in the National Theatre’s multi-award-winning War Horse in the West End, and has recently returned from a tour of the UK, understudying the role of Tevye in Craig Revel Horwood’s 5-star production of Fiddler on the Roof.
