Over five consecutive days, you will participate in masterclasses and workshops, providing you with a solid foundation in acting. You’ll gain a broad experience in the skills required to deliver a convincing performance and work on core acting techniques.

Acting Foundation Course Content
In this acting course you will cover:
- Stage Acting - how to create a character, approach a script, take direction in scene work and harness your imagination and creativity
- Screen Acting – learn key performance techniques, rehearse on camera with playback and professional analysis and perform a directed piece to camera
- Movement – develop body language skills, gain confidence in your physicality and work collaboratively as an ensemble
- Voice - learn vocal techniques and how to use the voice safely. work on control, volume, tone, authority and developing a broader vocal range
- Singing and Musical Theatre Workshops - an energetic combination of acting, voice and movement to fine-tune your ensemble work, breathing control, posture and confidence
- Stage Combat: learn the basic moves and safe practice
- Improvisation: Develop your stage-craft, self-confidence and reignite your imaginative skills

Our Approach
Part of our summer schools programme, our Five Day Foundation Acting Course does not adhere to just one school of thought on technique. You will experience various styles such as Method, Stanislavski and Meisner. Our acting coaches are all working, professional actors and directors who bring their own expertise and experience to classes giving you a full and well-rounded approach allowing you to establish effective techniques that work for you as an individual.
We firmly believe in the value of Acting and Drama Courses for developing life skills, irrespective of whether you want to pursue acting in a sustained way. Acting techniques are transferable to your working and social life enabling you to gain confidence and explore your imagination and creativity.
WHO CAN JOIN THIS COURSE?
This course is designed for Beginners and those with a little experience of acting or drama classes. It is formulated to allow students a progression in building skills and self-confidence. Many people search for an opportunity to explore this side of their persona and find it an invigorating and exhilarating experience. The course is for those aged 18 years and older. There is no maximum age, no experience is necessary and no course preparation is required.
