Salsa Classes - Intermediate 1

Our Salsa Intermediate 1 Classes is a continuation of the journey to become a real salsero / salseras. You’ll learn a range of techniques while developing your own personal style.

You will build on existing skills, whilst achieving a greater sense of creative freedom in your footwork and partner-work combinations. On Salsa - Intermediate you will work as an advanced student, and will need the requisite level of technique and style in order to keep up with the class. Ideally, you'll have attended a salsa course at City Academy or a one-year course at another school. If you aren't sure, please feel free to contact our Student Services team who are happy to help.

Salsa Intermediate Classes Content

Intermediate Salsa is designed to take you to the brink of being the complete salsa dancer as your skill levels start to soar:

• Review & development of the moves from the Salsa - Improvers 2 course
• Understand the fundamentals as well as elegance and sensuality in salsa
• Adapting to different partners with different styles and developing your own dance combinations
• Establishing creativity and confidence in salsa while becoming fully aware of the salsa rhythm and salsa beat
• Increasing the number of moves and extending the amount of time before a pattern is repeated
• Learn a variety of warm up / Footwork / Partner work / Combinations: Cross body lead advance turns combinations
• More nights out dancing in salsa clubs

You'll receive friendly feedback throughout, and you don’t need to bring a partner to join the course.

We recommend taking this course at least twice before moving on to Salsa Intermediate 2.
