Our five-day Beginner Dance Summer School is the perfect introduction to a wide range of dance styles in a supportive, welcoming and energising environment.
Designed specifically for those new to dance - or returning after a break - this intensive week will help you build strong foundations, improve fitness, and gain confidence across multiple styles. You don’t need previous training, just enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new.
Across five consecutive days, you’ll explore core techniques step-by-step, develop coordination and musicality, and experience the joy of learning choreography alongside others at a similar level.
By the end of the week, you’ll feel stronger, more confident, and ready to continue your dance journey.
What You Will Learn
Throughout the course, you will:

- Improve coordination, balance and posture
- Build flexibility and core strength safely
- Develop rhythm and musical awareness
- Gain confidence learning and performing simple choreography

Dance Summer School Course Content Overview
Contemporary
Flow & Expression - Explore simple travelling steps, floor work and expressive movement. Develop confidence moving through space and understanding musical phrasing.
Jazz
Energy & Rhythm - Learn beginner kicks, turns and sequences. Improve coordination and stamina while building performance confidence.
Ballet
Posture, Alignment & Control - Learn the fundamentals of ballet including basic positions, coordination, balance and posture. Ballet builds body awareness and provides a foundation for all other dance styles.
Commercial
Style & Confidence - Be introduced to accessible commercial choreography inspired by street and pop styles. Focus on rhythm, attitude and stage presence.
Improvisation
Creative Freedom - Explore guided movement tasks that build confidence and help you connect to your body without pressure.
Strength & Flexibility
Conditioning for Beginners - Learn safe stretching techniques, basic core exercises and posture awareness to support injury prevention and physical development.
Choreography
Putting It All Together - Learn short, simple routines combining skills from the week — building memory, confidence and performance quality.

No. This course is designed specifically for beginners.
It is active, but all exercises are taught at a beginner level with modifications where needed.
Comfortable clothing you can move freely in. Trainers are suitable for most classes; further guidance will be provided before the course.
You will learn simple routines during the week, and there is a showcase which we would invite you to ask friends and family to attend to see all that you have achieved.
