Flamenco Dance - Higher Elementary

Flamenco Dance - Higher Elementary

At this level, all students should have studied flamenco for at least a year and a half, and have a good repertoire of basic flamenco steps. These Flamenco Higher Elementary classes are perfect if you have attended our Flamenco Elementary Choreography & Technique course, or something similar.

This flamenco course concentrates on developing rhythm and introducing you to more advanced skills in footwork, arms and bodywork. On this course, choreography is taught in detail, through exercises and repetition for each individual element, further developing the content and structure each week.

The course starts with a warm up using general technique exercises for feet and arms, including marking steps for building core strength and coordination skills.

You will cover...

  • Increase speed of footwork and footwork vocabulary.
  • Learn to incorporate more intricate arm and hand movements in your dancing.
  • Build stamina and energy direction through longer choreographies.
  • Improve their general flamenco ability and style, perhaps also with the use of props.
  • Increase their awareness of the breadth of flamenco and its different styles.

No Venue

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
