Whether you’re looking to feel more fluid on the dance floor, strengthen your connection with a partner, or expand your social dance repertoire, this course is the perfect step forward.
Taught by some of the UK’s finest ballroom tutors, you’ll continue learning in a fun, social, and supportive environment - no partner required.
What You’ll Learn
Within our Improvers Ballroom Dance Programme, you will:
- Focus on two key Ballroom dance styles each term (see timetable for details)
- Refine your Standard Ballroom techniques in dances such as Waltz, Tango, Jive, and Quickstep
- Develop your Latin Ballroom skills through dances such as Cha Cha and Rumba
- Strengthen your connection, posture, and frame with a partner
- Learn smoother transitions, improved timing, and expressive movement
- Dance with a variety of partners in a friendly, social atmosphere
By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident, poised, and expressive - ready to progress to our Intermediate Ballroom Level or take your skills to the social dance floor.

Useful information
No, you don’t need a partner. Our classes use a partner rotation system, so everyone has the opportunity to dance and learn with different people.
This course is ideal for those who have completed a Beginner Ballroom Dance Course or already know the basic steps of several Ballroom and Latin dances.
Each course focuses on two key styles from the Standard and Latin Ballroom repertoire - for example, Waltz and Cha Cha, or Tango and Rumba. Check the timetable for current focus dances.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and smooth-soled shoes for turning and gliding. Avoid trainers with heavy grip soles.
Yes! Each Improvers course focuses on different dance styles and techniques. Many students repeat the Improvers level with different tutors to deepen their skills and broaden their repertoire.
Once you’re confident with your technique, you can progress to our Intermediate Ballroom Dance classes, where you’ll learn more complex choreography and styling.
