Our Actors Company is our premier ongoing theatre company. If you have attended acting classes and are confident taking to the stage you are encouraged to audition to join us.
With weekly rehearsals and regular performances throughout the year, The Actors Company is one of the most exciting contemporary groups in London. It enables you to participate in theatre productions that fit around your working life. Join a passionate cast, delve into text and craft your acting skills as you rehearse your way to live performances for friends, family and the wider public on a London stage. Ticket prices are subsidised by City Academy and company members are encouraged to help spread the word by inviting friends, family and industry professionals.
The Actors Company perform in three Theatre Productions a year, with each production offering three performances. Joining the company involves:

The Actors' Theatre Company is led by an accomplished director with a rich background in professional theatre. As part of this advanced ensemble, you’ll collaborate with like-minded performers and receive expert guidance from working theatre artists. Our directors are immersed in the industry and dedicated to refining your craft, pushing you to achieve your full potential on stage.
Mark holds an honours degree in Theatre and has a certification in Adult Learning Teaching and Training. He trained as a member of the Acting Company and Young Company at the Stratford Festival of Canada for two seasons where he studied with some of the industry’s top acting, text, voice, and movement coaches.
As an acting tutor, Mark integrates these core disciplines with a wealth of experience as a stage actor. He has performed at the world famous Stratford Festival, has toured nationally with The Reduced Shakespeare Company, and has played in theatres such as Southwark Playhouse, Greenwich Theatre, and Theatre Royal Stratford East. Worldwide, Mark has performed with TNT Theatre, a movement and music integrated theatre company that performs in dozens of countries all over the world.
To join The Actors Company it is necessary to come along to an Audition. There is nothing to prepare, just come along ready to have some fun and work creatively with company members and the director.
This company is designed for experienced performers. You should have significant acting training (such as completion of Acting for Improvers 2 or equivalent), and ideally some performance experience. It’s perfect for those ready to work at a high level within a committed ensemble.
Yes. Entry is by audition only. This ensures the ensemble is working at a consistent level and can take on the demands of a full-scale production. Auditions are informal but focused.
You can apply directly via the course page. Once we receive your application, a member of the team will be in touch to schedule your audition and provide preparation guidelines.
You’ll work on challenging, published plays—from contemporary drama to modern classics—selected to suit the company’s skills and interests. Past productions have included ensemble-led pieces, Shakespeare and character-driven dramas.
The company is directed by a professional theatre practitioner with extensive industry experience. You may also collaborate with guest creatives and technical professionals during the production phase.
Yes. All cast members are assigned a speaking role based on the outcome of the audition process and the demands of the play. Roles are selected to challenge and showcase your abilities.
The final performance is staged in a professional London theatre. These venues are fully equipped and open to the public, offering a genuine industry-standard performance experience.
Typically 12–16 performers. This size ensures strong ensemble cohesion while giving each actor a meaningful role and rehearsal focus.
Yes. The performance is ticketed and open to the public. Friends, family, and industry guests are welcome to attend.
