The Studio Company is the apex of our musical theatre curriculum, an intensive and passionate performance group centred around our regular full cast productions. We are a vibrant, sociable group who share a love for musical theatre and performance.
Over a nine week rehearsal period, you will work with a Director, a Musical Director and a Choreographer, all with extensive experience in professional theatre, to produce a show you will be incredibly proud of. Each production features a vibrant and talented cast and takes place at a central London theatre. Move through rehearsals, dress rehearsals and finally, an invaluable taste of the London stage.

The first-round auditions require a £5 fee and are submitted via self-tape. Once you’ve booked your slot, we’ll send you all the details you need for your audition.Deadline: 7th July 2026

Rehearsals start on Thursday 13th August 2026 and take place every Thursday and Friday evening from 7pm - 9.30pm and on Sunday evenings from 6pm - 8.30pm- with 3 Sunday all day rehearsals 9-5pm (9 weeks)The production will take place at The Bridewell Theatre from Monday 12th - Saturday 17th October.

Recalls: Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st July 2026 (evenings), no additional fee.
Studio Company Policy: Auditions are held specifically for each production, forming a new company for every show. The company operates on a strict audition-only basis.
Roles: Seeking exceptional lead performers and talented Ensemble members. Ensemble candidates should be strong dancers with musicality, excellent harmony skills, and able to perform challenging dance breaks. The Ensemble is a vital and irreplaceable part of the show.

Performances at The Bridewell Theatre:
After being successfully cast you will be either a Lead (£790) or Ensemble (£690) member. In order to secure your role on the production, you must book your spot on the course within a week of being offered a role. We offer two separate payment structures, full-price payment or installment options.
Full Price Lead: £790
Payment Plan Lead: An initial deposit of £250. Then three payments of £180 over the course of three months.
Full Price Ensemble: £690
Payment Plan Ensemble: an initial deposit of £225. Then three payments of £155 over the course of three months.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
