The Studio Company is the apex of our musical theatre curriculum, an intensive and passionate performance group centred around our regular full cast productions. We are a vibrant, sociable group who share a love for musical theatre and performance.
Over a nine week rehearsal period, you will work with a Director, a Musical Director and a Choreographer, all with extensive experience in professional theatre, to produce a show you will be incredibly proud of. Each production features a vibrant and talented cast and takes place at a central London theatre. Move through rehearsals, dress rehearsals and finally, an invaluable taste of the London stage.
Our Musical Theatre Studio Company is a vibrant, passionate group with a rich history of producing blockbuster shows. Previous productions include The Addams Family, Little Shop of Horrors, Chicago, In the Heights, Lend me a Tenor, Sweeney Todd, Urinetown, Into The Woods, Company, Avenue Q and The Producers, all of which have played to sold-out audiences and rave reviews. Audition, Rehearsal and Show details
The first-round auditions require a £5 fee and are submitted via self-tape. Once you’ve booked your slot, we’ll send you all the details you need for your audition.Deadline: 7th July 2026
All of the audition material will be available via Dropbox and a link will be sent to you once you book your audition slot.We will notify you via email to let you know if you have received an in person Recall.
Rehearsals start on Thursday 13th August 2026 and take place every Thursday and Friday evening from 7pm - 9.30pm and on Sunday evenings from 6pm - 8.30pm- with 3 Sunday all day rehearsals 9-5pm (9 weeks)The production will take place at The Bridewell Theatre from Monday 12th - Saturday 17th October.
Audition Details
First-Round Auditions: Self-tape submission, £5 fee. Once you book your slot, we’ll provide all submission details. Deadline: 7th July 2026.
Recalls: Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st July 2026 (evenings), no additional fee.
Studio Company Policy: Auditions are held specifically for each production, forming a new company for every show. The company operates on a strict audition-only basis.
Roles: Seeking exceptional lead performers and talented Ensemble members. Ensemble candidates should be strong dancers with musicality, excellent harmony skills, and able to perform challenging dance breaks. The Ensemble is a vital and irreplaceable part of the show.
Rehearsal & Performance Schedule
Rehearsals:
- Start: Thursday 13th August 2026
- Regular rehearsals: Thursdays & Fridays, 7:00pm – 9:30pm; Sundays, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
- x3 Sunday all-day rehearsals: 9:00am – 5:00pm (3 sessions over 9 weeks)
Theatre Schedule:
To ensure the production is of the highest quality, availability for all rehearsals is strongly encouraged.
- Thursday 14th August – Friday 10th October 2026: Studio rehearsals (Thursday, Friday, Sunday evenings)
- Sunday 11th October 2026: Get into the theatre
- Monday 12th October 2026: All-day tech, dress rehearsal, and first performance (you will be needed all day and evening)

Memebership Payments
After being successfully cast you will be either a Lead (£790) or Ensemble (£690) member. In order to secure your role on the production, you must book your spot on the course within a week of being offered a role. We offer two separate payment structures, full-price payment or installment options.
Full Price Lead: £790
Payment Plan Lead: An initial deposit of £250. Then three payments of £180 over the course of three months.
Full Price Ensemble: £690
Payment Plan Ensemble: an initial deposit of £225. Then three payments of £155 over the course of three months.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
