SUMMER SCHOOL

Filmmaking Summer School

Write it. Shoot it. Edit it. Screen it.

Our five-day Filmmaking Summer School gives you the opportunity to create your own short film from concept to completion using professional filmmaking and post-production equipment.

Working in a practical, studio-based environment, you’ll be guided by industry professionals through every stage of the filmmaking process - from initial idea and storyboarding to directing, shooting and editing.

Whether you’re completely new to filmmaking or curious about working behind the camera, this course provides a structured, hands-on introduction to visual storytelling.

By the end of the week, you won’t just understand how films are made - you’ll have made one yourself.

Throughout the week, you will:

  • Develop an understanding of different film genres and cinematic styles
  • Learn how to structure and storyboard a compelling story
  • Explore camera techniques including framing, movement and shot composition
  • Understand lighting setups and how light shapes mood and tone
  • Gain insight into cinematography and visual storytelling
  • Learn the fundamentals of film editing and post-production
  • Direct and collaborate as part of a creative team

Each element builds towards producing your own short film.
