If you are looking for a chance to put your acting skills into practice, create exciting characters, work closely with scripts, and perform your work to an audience, then our Tuesday Theatre Company is for you.

Our Theatre Companies give you a unique opportunity to develop as a performer in a fun, social and supportive environment. Working with a professional theatre director you will build confidence and performance skills through regular rehearsals and participate in an inspiring theatre production to an invited audience.

The company uses new writing, devising, and one act plays that offer all members of the cast creative challenges.

The Tuesday Theatre Company aims to be one of the most exciting part-time theatre groups in London. It gives you the chance to participate in exciting contemporary theatre productions that fit around your working life. Working creatively with your director and fellow company members, you will develop scripts through the entire process of selection, character creation, rehearsal, and performance.

How Does it Work?

The Tuesday Company perform in three Theatre Productions a year. Joining the company involves:

Weekly rehearsals at Diorama Arts Studios
Theatre performance at The Courtyard Theatre
Tickets for your family, friends, and any industry contacts you would like to invite

Schedule For 2018

The Tuesday Theatre Company is an ongoing theatre performance group. You pay on a termly basis, entitling you to participate in all rehearsals and performances.

July Theatre Production:

Rehearsals: Tuesday 01 May - 03 July
Performance: Sunday 08 July

November Theatre Production:

Rehearsals: Tuesday 18 Sept - 20 Nov
Performance: Sunday 25 Nov

Who Can Join?

Everyone is welcome to join the company. All we require is that you have some previous acting experience - either a City Academy Beginners course or the equivalent classes elsewhere.

Artistic Policy:

We ensure that company members have an equal opportunity to perform, and therefore generally rehearse and perform scenes rather than complete plays. The Theatre Productions consist of a group of pieces which come together to form an engaging show with all of the actors fully participating.

How To Join

Subscriptions for 2018 are as follows:

£150.00 deposit on joining and then two further installments of £125.00.

The Tuesday Theatre Company perform at The Courtyard Theatre.

The Courtyard Theatre is a fantastic fringe theatre performance space in Old Street.

Company Director

The City Academy Tuesday Company is led by experienced actor and comedian Pernilla Holland.

Pernilla trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and has worked extensively as an actor with credits including National Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, Soho Theatre and the BBC. She is also an improviser with the Award Winning Notfix - the improvised musical.

She encourages play in the work and believes in every actor supporting each other as an ensemble. She particularly loves to direct and help students on their journey as creatives.

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals: 10 weeks every Tuesday

Theatre Production:

Theatre Production: All day rehearsal Sunday and evening performance at the Courtyard Theatre.

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

Membership will cover you for all classes, rehearsals and performances for the duration of the term.

The Tuesday Theatre Company have three terms throughout the year:

TERM 1: September - November
TERM 2: January - March
TERM 3: April - June

There are no rehearsals in December, July & August.

MEMBERSHIP PERFORMANCES

The Tuesday Theatre Company each term rehearses towards a showcase performance. Each studio production will consist of three performances: a Sunday matinee, a Sunday evening performance and a Monday evening performance.

MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT

We offer two different payment options for the Tuesday Theatre Company:

1. Full payment of £399.00

2. Deposit payment of £150.00, then two further payments of £125.00
1st Instalment - one month after the start date
2nd Instalment - one month after the 1st instalment

Your deposit instalment payments will be automatically debited from your credit/debit card.

CANCELLATIONS POLICY

We offer a full refund or full credit if you cancel at least 72 hours before your first Theatre Company rehearsal.
We cannot offer any refund if you cancel less than 72 hours before the your first Theatre Company rehearsal.
