Our Dance Foundation Improvers Plus course consists of 5 full days of dance classes to get you working on your technical skills across the dance forms.
Each day you will be attending classes taught by a select few expert dance tutors to encorage you in different styles of dance. You will learn new skills, to enhance your existing foundation in dance, improve your fitness, learn a variety of steps and routines whilst spending the week with other dance enthusiasts.
At the end of this course you will get the opportunity to present your work from the week in an informal showcase. You'll be encouraged to invites guests, friends and family, to enjoy the choreography you've learnt during the course.

This course has been carefully designed for those that already have some dance experience and are looking to take their skills to the next level over the course of a week.
Course Content
In this course you will:
- Understand rhythm better and apply into music
- Enhance quality in your movement
- Practise your turns, spinning preparations and form
- Understand some of the jumping techniques used in dance
- Become more familiar with the floor work
- Find the soft and sharp in movement
- Learn some common kick techniques
- Better your coordination and balance
- Explore your movement range and expand it

You will need
Water bottle, comfortable and stretchy clothing that doesn't restrict your movement, dance knee pads (optional), comfortable footwear (non sticky trainers), dance shoes and ballet shoes recommended,

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
Our adult Ballet Summer Schools focus on classical ballet techniques, you will also learn ballet history, terminology and excerpts from famous ballets and experience being ‘en Pointe’.
