How to Draw
Julia is an artist, drawing tutor and textile designer who has sold her work all over the world. She spent her childhood experimenting with different artistic mediums – taking photos, creating collages and enrolling on evening classes in painting – before studying for a degree in Textiles at the Chelsea College of Art and Design.
After graduating Julia worked as a textile designer for Mantero: one of the world’s leading textile designing studios, based in Lake Como, Italy. She later became a freelancer and sold her work to manufacturers around the world, including Liberty of London.
Julia is a passionate teacher who believes that everyone has hidden artistic talent waiting to be discovered! She enjoys inspiring and motivating her students to explore their creativity, and to make them think differently about what it means to be artistic.
