Pippa O’Brien, Matt Ramplin & Racky Plews


Pippa O
Pippa O’Brien: Director

Pippa studied Drama at The University of Bristol and Musical Theatre at The Royal Academy of Music and is professional actress as well as teacher and Director.

Pippa has been the Director of the City Academy Musical Theatre Companies since 2010, and since then has directed ‘Cabaret’, ‘The Witches of Eastwick’ and ‘Sweet Charity’ for the groups, as well as writing and directing ‘Dick Whittington’ and ‘Cinderella’.

Pippa also teaches Singing and Acting at several London Drama Schools training young musical theatre professionals.

Matt Ramplin: Musical Director

Matt trained in music performance and composition at Cardiff University. He has most recently finished work on two sell out, multi-award nominated shows: Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd at the Twickenham Theatre and Singin’ in the Rain at the Gatehouse. West-End credits include:

Rags (Lyric Theatre), You Won’t Succeed on Broadway (Garrick Theatre)

In addition to his work as a musical director, Matt has taught at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Arts Ed, LCM and the London Theatre School and regularly works as an arranger and orchestrator for Royal Caribbean, P&O and Thompson cruise lines.

Racky Plews: Choreographer

Racky trained at Arts Educational & Sylvia Young Theatre School. She was the resident director at Trafalgar Studios on Rodgers and Hammerstein’s State Fair and also the choreographer in residence at The Gatehouse where credits include: Guys and Dolls (Best Production nomination – thirteen Off West End nominations), The Drowsy Chaperone (Best Off West End Production nomination What’s On Stage), Buddy – The Buddy Holly StoryA Slice of Saturday NightThe Hot Mikado and Into The Woods.

Performance credits include: American Idiot (West End and UK Tour), Footloose (UK Tour), the European Premiere of Bare – The Rock Musical (Best Choreography nomination Broadway World), Bernarda Alba, and Once Upon A Mattress (Best Choreography nomination Off West End Awards, and The 48 hour Musicals – The Boy Friend (Her Majesty’s Theatre), Crazy For You, and Me & My Girl (London Palladium).
