Explore the creative possibilities of digital photography on our Fine Art Photography courses. Focusing on portraiture, architecture, still life and more, fine art photography produces images that have a story unique to the artist.
Throughout this course, your aim will be to use photography to create imagery that expresses your personal ideas, messages and emotions, you will examine how genres collide in this medium and how and where photography sits in the world of fine art.
This photography workshop will look at the various technical processes and creative possibilities (and boundaries) of fine art photography and how your photography could be used as commentary on social, ethical and cultural ideas. Tracing the rise of fine art photography since the Victorian era from artists such as Julia Maragret Cameron, you will explore the history of the art-form and gain inspiration from more recent artists such as Robert Farber,
Throughout this two day course, you will be guided through the history of fine art photography, some theory and techniques, and be given practical exercises and projects to create your own contemporary art.
This is a practical course, based partly in a studio and partly on location around London.
A good understanding of basic exposure and your camera’s manual settings is advised.
You will be given projects and trial various techniques and looks in a studio environment and on location to develop your unique style.
You will be required to provide a DSLR or mirrorless camera with full manual controls.
