Emotion, Truth & Conviction is a two-day, perfomance based actor’s workshop with Hollywood based Actor, DeObia Oparei (Game of Thrones, Sex Education, LOKI). This is about you risking vulnerability, performing in public, and daring to be seen in a fun and supportive environment.
Working with TV scripts, to include HBO's Game Of Thrones, Shakespeare, Greek Tragedy, poems and monologues, as well as scenes from selected screenplays, you will dig deep into the heart of these dramatic works and discover how to turn the ink of text into the blood and breath of life.
You will learn how to tap into the raw emotion, truth and conviction that lies at the heart of who you are to deliver a thrilling performance for an end-of-workshop show in front of an invited audience.
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
You will perform your end-of-day’s work to a live audience in a selected central London cafe or bookshop.
You will present an informally staged production of your end-of-workshop work in front of an invited audience.
You will be permitted to invite a plus-one to the show.

DeObia began his acting career with The Royal Shakespeare Company before working in TV and film.
A selection of DeObia’s many screen credits include iconic roles in Moulin Rouge, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Jumanji: The Next Level, DUMBO, Wrath Of Man,. And Game Of Thrones (HBO), LOKI (Marvel), and Sex Education (Netflix). DeObia has extensive experience leading performing arts workshops all over the world including North America, the UK, Australia and the Caribbean.
DeObia is a published playwright whose first play debuted at the Royal Court theatre.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
