Rowan is a London-based vocalist and composer. She has extensive training and studied popular music at The Brit School before gaining a first-class BMus Hons in Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. During this time she was awarded a place to study Norwegian Folk and Jazz at The Grieg Academy, Norway. Many of Rowan’s projects take influence from Scandinavian, European and British Jazz and Folk as well as free improvisation.
Whilst performing in many settings in the UK, Norway and China, she has gained invaluable experience gigging with a variety of ensembles. In 2019 she held a residency in Xiamen, China as well as flying to Beijing for some gigs. In the UK, she has performed at prestigious jazz venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Oliver’s Jazz Bar and The Spice of Life.
Alongside her artistic career, Rowan has a passion for music education. Her classes create an inspiring space where students can grow in confidence, expand repertoire, develop improvisational skills and hone their craft.
