City Academy Choir
You are welcome to join the City Academy choir at any time during the year.
If you want to sing with your friends and improve singing skills at the same time, this course is perfect for you! This is not so much a course per se but an ongoing group for you to join. Members pay a yearly subscription and this entitles them to all the rehearsals, concerts and choir social events.
Weekly rehearsals are held on a Tuesday (Central London) and Wednesday (Docklands) evening and regular concerts throughout the season, make the City Academy Choir one of the most exciting up-and-coming contemporary choirs in London to join.
The class will be taught in a fun and supportive atmosphere. It is open for everyone.
Please note - The City Academy Choir classes run throughout the year (on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings) with the exception of August and Christmas.
The musical repertoire will be mixed but draw largely from Musical Theatre and contemporary arrangements of pop/jazz as well as on traditional choral works.

Choir Etiquette
With this being a group, rather than a course, members do not have to commit to every Tuesday evening, as we appreciate that people have busy lives. However, we do ask that as a concert approaches, members make a commitment to the 4 weeks of rehearsals preceding, and of course the concert itself. If you are unable to perform in the concert you may of course still attend rehearsals as usual.
Additional Information/Costs
A Dictaphone or other portable recording device is recommended in order to record harmony lines etc. (Most mobile phones come with some kind of recording facility – so please check before purchasing anything new.)
Students should bring a folder to class in which to put any given sheet music and a pencil to make notes on the score.
Suggested reading (optional): Singing and The Actor by Gillianne Keyes.
Feedback to Confirm Progress
Students will receive regular verbal feedback from the tutor throughout the rehearsals.
