When acting for commercials, you need to be able to quickly interpret what a director is looking for as well as the client involved in the project. You also need to be able to prepare a character for the commercial, and understand the pace and timing of how that role needs to be delivered to suit the commercial format.
This course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need in order to adapt your acting style for adverts and commercials, so you are prepared to audition.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.

Course Content
On this course, you will:
- Practice audition technique, understanding the importance of communication with the casting director.
- Identify the needs of the client and director and learn how to accommodate both.
- Explore the beats within a commercial script.
- Explore the manipulation of props for commercial success.
- Become empowered to approach commercial castings with confidence and skill.
PLEASE BRING
Students should come with water, writing equipment and a link to their favourite commercial featuring a live actor.
