Time to work 

The timetable has been designed to give writers the time and space to write. Every day will provide substantial opportunity to make progress on your project within our comfortable and spacious studios.

Self-guided

With an emphasis on your personal process there is the freedom to find your own path within the framework of the week. Whether you prefer to write first thing in the morning, avoid the afternoon slump, or work into the early evening, you can set the timetable towards your own process.  

Collaboration

One of the key features of the week will be the opportunity to share your work with fellow writers, who are also developing their own stories. We will build a supportive and encouraging writers group which will enable everyone to receive and offer feedback.

Analysis

Analysing the work of established writers is a key component of any writer’s journey. We will pick apart a series of relevant texts over the course of the week, discussing the fine detail of what makes great writing in different forms from flash fiction to screenplay to the novel.  

Skills 

Everyday includes an active writing workshop lead by the lead tutor, covering a wide array of skills necessary to completing your work. From considering basic skills such as building characters and structuring storylines to writing effective dialogue and shifting perspective these sessions are intended to feed into your writing.   

MORNING: Lead Tutor writing workshop

AFTERNOON:Feedback and sharing work

LATE AFTERNOON: Writing time and one-to-one with Tutor

LAST DAY: Evening social trip out
